Focus item at near angle, i roughly know the tactic already. Use "Disabling Flash" to capture the item. The background will look blurr, but in certain percentage only. If you want the background to extremely blurr, have to use Creative Shooting " Manual Exposure". That one i still not very familiar..hehe
This one is to focus item which is a little far from the camera, you can see that the middle candle is more clear then the front candle. This photo was shot using "Creative Auto Shooting". This mode can help you focus not the front item but teh 3rd or 4th item which in a row. Just like the candle...
This photo use is shot with "Shooting Moving Subjects", focus the people from far, F40, 50 or 60 also can. Then hold down teh shoot button longer a bit, can shoot 3 photos at the same time. Turn up you can get a nice photo out of 3 photos!!
